Korean Dancheong Cup Design
This project was a personal project to explore a new surface design pattern inspired by the traditional Korean "dancheong 단청" patterns. Incorporating a combination of illustration and graphic design skills to render a new pattern that could be used across a variety of applications.
For the patterns for this project, I looked at Korean temples for inspiration where dancheong is used. I illustrated the lotus pattern first, and took colors from the traditional colors. Looking at inspiration for Korean nightlife as well, I created a version that was inspired by the neon lights seen throughout Seoul.
